We have been raising grass-fed cattle here on our farm for the past 7 years. We prioritize rotational grazing, so the cows are constantly receiving access to fresh, luscious grass. Rotating pastures every few days ensures that they are all getting fertilized evenly, and gives the grass a chance to grow in the empty pastures. By valuing rotational grazing, our cows are always eating long, thick green grass.
Our beef is 100% grass-fed, grass-finished. We do not offer grain or growth hormones, and our pastures are 100% chemical & pesticide free. Quality meat is our guarantee!
With meat prices rising daily, buy directly from the farmer is the way to go. One great thing about buying beef in bulk, is that both ground meat, and sirloin steaks are the same price per pound.
Price Per Pound
Half beef: $5.50/pound
Quarter beef: $5.50/pound
Price is by the hanging weight. J&L is our butcher and their fees are $1/pound (hanging weight) plus a kill fee of $125 that you would split accordingly. They also have a $10 box charge.
*Prices can change without notice*
Your deposit counts toward your final payment which is due upon meat pickup.
A $250 deposit is required to secure your spot for a quarter cow, $350 for half.
Example for half beef:
Total hanging weight 500 pounds.
You reserved half, so your hanging weight is 250lbs. Your butcher fees would be 250 x $1 = $250 plus $62.50 for half the kill fee. They may charge $10 for boxes.
You’d then owe Berryhill 250 x $5.50/lb = $1375
Total $1687.50 for a half.
Our average over the past three years is 475lbs hanging weight for a whole cow.
It’s estimated you take home 60% of your hanging weight in meat, without the bones.
